About Us
Sew PGH is a community for sewists, makers, menders, and creative people in the Pittsburgh region.
What We Do
Throughout the year, Sew PGH hosts a variety of opportunities to connect and make new friends:
Meetups and sewing socials
Fabric swaps
Frocktails, our annual themed party
Retreats
Other fun events
Online discussion and support through Discord
Some events are focused on sewing. Some are focused on friendship. Most are a little bit of both. We also amplify the cool creative events happening in our community.
Have something you’d like us to share or a collaboration opportunity? Get in touch with us and we’d be happy to share it to our community.
Won’t you be our neighbor?
What started as a way to connect with other people who sew has grown into a welcoming network of friendships, events, retreats, and creative experiences. While sewing brings us together, the relationships we build are what keep us coming back.
This isn’t a membership club—just a connector and community group.
Whether you're making garments, quilting, embroidering, mending, cosplay crafting, or simply curious about sewing, there's a place for you here. Come to an event, join the Discord, or introduce yourself.
Meet the Organizers
Kelsy believes creative hobbies are better with friends.
After learning to sew as an adult, she quickly realized what she loved most wasn't just making clothes—it was meeting other people who loved making things, too. She founded Sew PGH in 2021 to create the kind of community she wished existed: welcoming, low-pressure, inclusive, and full of interesting people.
Her favorite part of any Sew PGH event is watching someone show up alone and leave with new friends.Sarah is the calm, thoughtful force behind many of Sew PGH's best ideas.
A talented sewist, she loves creating spaces where people feel comfortable sharing their work, learning new skills, and connecting with others. She believes creativity should be accessible, community should be welcoming, and nobody should have to figure out sewing alone.
